In honor of NBA All Star Weekend aka Big Boy'd Weekend (Click) BOOG is giving shout out to some of my favorite NBA players that you dont hear about on your daily basis. These fellows don't have all the big time statistical numbers, million dollar endorsements, a huge following of fans, and if hasn't been traded yet will eventually be involved in trades at least 2-4 times within their careers. The reason why I mess with these guys so heavy is very simple! They all get will jiggy, green light opportunities/situations, swagger is always turntup to one trillion, they also give you the real deal Holyfield when stepping on the hardwood a nightly basis with whatever jersey is on his back!
Stephan Jackson (He goes H.A.M on every team he puts a uniform on! Lets not forget he did win a title with the Spurs early in his career. He wont hesitate to jump in the crowd to defend his teammates as well.)
Shannon Brown ( Dr. Feel Good. Dude will try to dunk on anyone in his way!)
Danilo Gallinari aka The Rooster ( I feel like Spike Lee(Click) every time Gallinari gets jiggy.)
Monta Ellis ( Plays for one of my favorite teams in the League. Can run faster then a speeding bullet, and is Greenlight ready aka Right Now Ready!
Chris Andersen aka Birdman ( Birdman is my manz n dem. Tattoos, Headband, Blocks, Dunks, Enthusiasm, Thuggets. Enough said!)
Nate Robinson & J.R Smith ( The crazy thing about this picture is that the initial fight had nothing to do with these two men. They were just waiting all season for something to pop off and if neither was restrained one of them would have ended up leaving on a stretcher. # H.A.M)
Johnny Flynn ( Little man has a whole lot of game. That smile is picture perfect just like Magic Johnson.)
Tha Clip Show (Shout out to Rasual, Blake, Caveman, Baron and E.G. I mess with you guys HEAVY!)
Zydrunas Ilgauskas & Lebron James ( You know Boog you know I mess with King James. Therefore I mess with Big Z because he messes with King James!)
Nick Young & John Wall ( Man shout out to Nick Young dude has been having a breakthrough season and not to mention he's Cali Swag (818) all day. John Wall would easily be the rookie of the year if it wasnt for Blake Griffin. John Wall aka Hawaiian silky smooth II)
I want to take you back to the 80s and put you on to theSHOWTIMELAKERS. The 80's LAKERSwere a beautiful sight to see. We had Magic Johnson(#32) running the show with his no look passes, angelic smile, and would run through a brick wall if need be just to get the W. KareemAbdul-Jabbar(#33) posted up on the low block just giving opponents service with the "Sky Hook", he is also the NBA's All time leading scorer. We had Big GameJames Worthy(#42), ByronScott(#4), MichealCooper(#21) aka "Coop" running the lane with reckless abandon, bringing down the Hammer on the rim. Then there were the role players ACGreen(#45) who had the wettest Jerry Curl of the 80s. Dude didn't take nothing back to the crib post game (SMH). We had KurtRambis(#31) akaFour Eyes he would getjiggy from time to time himself. Then lets not forget about the engineer of SHOWTIMEbasketball, PatRiley(Coach) would roam the sidelines with his top of the line European tailored suits, slick back hair, and his swagger was always on 1 zillion! During the 80's those LAKERSmade 8 NBA Finals appearances won 5 NBA titles in the decade.
The video below gives you a taste of what was going on in LA on and off the court in the 80's. If you are having a bad day today this video is Gurantsheed to put a smile on your face. This video gets BOOG every time I watch it!
Additional Shout outs:
The Converse Weapons was the hooping shoe of the 80's
Shout out to the Short Shorts. Cats were soaring to the basket in these!
Pull out the lo lo, throw on your Khaki suit, lace up your chucks, and twist your fingers up and throw your W's up! You know what today is, dont act brand new! We$tCoa$tWedne$day is paying homage to Snoop Dogg when he was signed to NO LIMIT Records with Master P off his album "Da Game is to be sold, Not told"......... Man this track is so We$tCoa$t Official.
Ray Allen J'n up L.O. All time Wettest 3 pointer ever.
Man Shout Out to Ray Allen for breaking the NBA record for most 3 Point shots made ever (2,562 and counting). If you know BOOG you know I love Hoop and besides the One and Two Hand FEEL GOOD, I love the 3 point jumper. The jump shot is one of the most beautiful things in the game of basketball. From the ball releasing from the shooters hand in an effortless shooting motion, then traveling to the basket with precision accuracy, and hitting nothing but the bottom of the net is POETRY IN MOTION. The distance from the 3 Point line is a distance of 23 feet and 9 inches from the line to the basket. It takes alot of repetition, focus, mental toughness, and SWAGGER II to master this shot. God Bless Ray Allen for becoming the All Time Leader in 3 Point shots made!
Here are some of BOOG'S Favorite 3 Point Specialist:
B.J. Armstrong (His name was really ill, and he was just spot up money for Jordan)
Rasual Butler (Man don't leave my man wide open in the right corner. He is Easy Livin in the league from the corner.)
JJ Redick (He is in the league now but he was the sickest college 3 point shooter ever!
J.R. Smith ( aka Green Light aka StepBack. Man if he isn't Yammin on somebody he is hitting the 3 point jumper. I dont know who hits more Step Back 3 Pointers then him. Look at Anthony Parker SMH)
Kevin Durant ( Need I say more? aka WETTTTTTTTTTT!)
Larry Bird (aka Larry Legend aka The hardest white boy (no homo) to ever pick up a basketball)
Dan Marjerle (Thunder Dan use to go H.A.M)
Jordan Noblitt (Shout out to my mans n dem. When BOOG use to run the show my man would hold me down with mad assist. Shout out to you J. Nob!)
Robert Horry (Man you will always be loved in L.A even though you hit L.A with some Daggers when you left!)
Antoine Walker (I know you are wondering why he is on here? But he has the most 3 point shot attempts in a game (11) without a make. aka L)
Jason Terry (aka Tha JET. He gets love because his pull up jumper and his catch and shoot jumper is sick!)
Jamal Crawford (Dude just gets jiggy. He has the most 4 point plays in league history. Legendary!
Throw Back Thursday will be dedicated to the old school. I have to pay homage to the old school because without it we wouldn't be where we are today. Throw Back Thursdays will focus on old school songs, people, sports, styles, BOOG, pretty much everything from back in the day......................................... Now this Petey Pablo classic track still goes soooooooooo H.A.Mto this day. The track has been on my mind all week after seeing all of my buddies (no homo) going H.A.M to this jam on some home video they showed me this past weekend............... "TAKE YA SHIRT OFF, TWIST IT ROUND YO HEAD, SPIN IT LIKE A HELICOPTER".Man this track still gets me turnt up!
Warning: Song may knock you out if you aren't careful.
